Lavender essential oil is used for cosmetic, dermatological, and therapeutic purposes. The name is derived from the Latin word lavare, meaning “to wash”. Generally, it is used in the cosmetics industry in many types of soaps, shampoos, lotions, detergents, etc. The essential oil of Lavandula Angustifolia is also recognised in aromatherapy as a comprehensive relaxant, anti-oxidant, and anti-microbial agent.
